| New Hampshire Bill HB339 Needs to be Stopped - It Means Death for Horses for Meat | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| HB339 was passed by both the House
and Senate in March while we were all worrying about mud and snow. I don't
know how this snuck under the radar but it did and we must stop it before
it becomes law... It's currently in the Senate Finance Committee, we have
got to act quickly.
Please let your representatives know that we do not wish to eat our horses. Their tainted meat contains bute and other carcinogenic drugs that have no withdrawal time as recognized by the USDA. So, the plan is to circumvent Federal Protections and allow the State Vet, Steve Crawford, to employ a Meat Inspection Services Administrator, which he would oversee, and making an appropriation therefor. At the same time that huge cuts are being made in other areas? Share, write, email, call, fax. Whatever it takes to get this
filth off the docket. Want to find your legislator and let them know how bad this would be for New Hampshire, and how you'd prefer if your tax dollars would be spent on services that would actually benefit New Hampshire? Here's a link to find 'em. Speak up!! Tell them how you feel, it's their job to listen. WE DON'T WANT HORSE SLAUGHTER IN OUR STATE!!! Thank you!! |

| Farm Tours | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Farm Tours are every Sunday at 2:30pm for anyone
that wants to see the Farm, volunteer, sponsor, co-own, adopt or surrender
a horse. Other times, visitors are welcomed by appointment only.
Because we are an all volunteer organization, with no paid staff, we don’t
have people available to show people around without an appointment. If you can’t make the tour, and would make
a special appointment, please call (603)798-5615 or email us at info@liveandletlivefarm.org
to schedule a visit. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Guidelines Waivers and Volunteer Training | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Before volunteering at the Farm, you’ll need
to be familiar with the Farm guidelines and fill out a Volunteer Waiver.
You can get them at the rec room at the Farm.
You also need to undergo a volunteer training. Please call (603)798-5615
or email us at info@liveandletlivefarm.org
to set up training. |

| Dedicated, Committed Volunteers Needed to Help Feed | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
We need more dedicated, committed volunteers
to help feed the horses and do chores on a daily basis. Do you have
one morning or evening available a week that you could commit to feeding?
Even an hour once a week, on a consistent basis can contribute.
We really need help doing this. The more people that we can get
involved, the smaller the jobs can be! If you can help, please call (603)798-5615
or email us at info@liveandletlivefarm.org
to get started. |

| Volunteer Coordinator, Volunteer Trainers Needed | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| We need a person to take over coordination
of our volunteers. If you are organized and like working with people,
this volunteer position could be just what you’re looking for. Also,
we need more people to help train new volunteers. In particular,
we need people that can train in handling horses. If interested, contact
Teresa at 798-5615 or info@liveandletlivefarm.org. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Volunteers Needed for Grant Writing/Research | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| We need people that are interested in helping
us write and research grants. If interested, contact Teresa at 798-5615
or info@liveandletlivefarm.org. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Horse Handlers Needed | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
We need several good, gentle horse handlers
that can work on a consistent basis with troubled horses. Our problem
horses have bad habits because of what has happened to them in their lives.
This position is, of course, volunteer, but the skills you would gain
from working with such a variety of horses are endless. You need
to be an advanced horse person with a firm but kind hand and method of
work. Because we practice natural horsemanship
at the farm, we would like you to also. We start working with horses
on the ground to gain their trust, and hopefully you can work them up
to being ridden, but it will depend on each individual horse. If
you are interested in this position, please contact Teresa info@liveandletlivefarm.org
or 603-798-5615. |
